i havent messed with it yet but there is stuff called "water slide" paper for printing decals. its not all that expensive either. from what i gather you cut and paste or use a word processor to type out what you want...then print it on this paper. then you spray it with a couple coats of clear....cut it..and use just like a regular decal. bought some to mess with but wont get to it until after the holidays but it might be worth seeign what you can find over there foz.

Olife...

The Dauntless i wanted as soon as i saw it. Looks great. As we speak i've got two more pacific theatre planes on the way i blame it all on you haha.

I have another Dauntless, based on the USS enterprise and also a TBM Avenger flown by George Bush Snr on the way.

My Pacific fleet is growing thanks to your help

Also looking to epand my European theatre to, i cannot neglect it just looking at another Mosquito but they are quite expensive. Also a P47 in d-day markings.

The choices are superb.

Anymore ideas for the pacific or any other theatre?

Hey Olife, you know you said the W and E were the wrong way round in this picture

and correct in this next picture

And then I said this:

Well I'm confused now with Foz's model showing the letters the other way round. Unfortunatly he didn't take a photo of the right side model so I can't see, but from what I believe, either both photos are wrong or the left and right decals have been put on the wrong way round on the model.

Anyway no big deal, they all look fantastic.

Pope you dirty little dog you!!

I'm already one step ahead of you. The decals on the plane (which i dont add by the way, these things are diecast so everything is already done) are not like your pics. The are simply the same on both sides - E-W

Will try and get some pics up

Is that correct then?
That would mean Olife was right in saying that the side profile art is wrong, and that I'm mistaken in thinking the letters were always mirrored like on your hurricanes.

it should read left to right , squadron letter/letters then aircraft letter,so looking at photo of model and box art,id say the model is spot on(assuming that E is the squadron code)

Then how does that explain the A LK Hurricane?

Funny how Ive never really though about squadron markings before.

hmm interesting,i would of said the hurri LK A ,was incorrect, but got this from a warbird site
"aHawker Hurricane, wearing the black paint scheme and markings of Ian Gleed's P2798, LK-A, during his nightfighting role. Markings on the right side of the aircraft read A-LK, this is to allow the RAF roundel to be painted directly in line with the one on the other side."
but is the model a night fighter? im confused
