Also, I believe Soul Draining works on "number of the enemy that die" from the attack.
Kill of a grand total of two (2) Black Dragons? Great, you get +2 ghosts. Dish out the same amount of damage and you'll whack two hundred (200) Wood Fairies. One of those results will make your stack of ghosts go out of control much more easily than the other....
