Hi

I have win 7 64 bit home premium with 8 gig of ram. I am finding that there seems to be no pattern to the launcher failure. It can be as the game loads up, as a mission loads, connecting to multiplayer or just flying around. Sometimes I can be playing for up to 20 mins before it crashes but usually it crashes within 5-10 minutes

However, it seems to happen most when i key "escape" to end a mission or change menus that it seems to fail the most.

I have now given up on this game until a solution is finally found to stop the launcher failures.

My hardware is a i7 2600K over clocked to 4.8 with a GTX5800 graphics card. None of my other games have this issue so it must be something to do with the software within COD.

Very frustrated

After reinstalling everything under 'redist' folder, game will now launch up to game options, then it's hit and miss.'launcher not responding'.

My launcher problem was because the Launcher.exe was in compatibility mode ( windowsXPSP3)
I dint put in that mode but decided to do that now as nothing else helped.
To my surprise it was already in compatibility mode, so I did the obvious thing, I took it out.
Started the game and its cruising along nicely since.
Fps is around 32 at four thousand feet over London and 31 at ground level.
Some freezes still occur but they are light furthermore the experience is smooth.
I must say that the graphics, for me as a sailplane pilot myself, are much more realistic, the hazing is in the distance feels believable.
Maybe it would be nice if the tree animation could be turned of as I never noticed it in real life wile flying, with exception to mountain flying where one is so close to the trees that you actually see them move and maybe in landing.
I propose this as the shimmering of the trees ( for me ) is an immersion killer.
Now , at least this is my humble opinion, this game is close to going gold.

With a thumbs up to the developers for persisting, I greet you all,

Niels

Thanks for you input. Who knows, we may sort out L-e problems before the Dev's.

Salute

I've been trying to join friends in the visible servers for the past half hour.

It's maddening watching that little screen come up saying launcher needs to close or something like that....
