I am a big fan of flight simulators and especially enjoy the old WW2 aircraft. So I was looking forward to this game as I knew the original IL2. Well many things went wrong. There were some things I also got a bit angry. So I left CloD and just took a look here for news from time to time. It was yesterday that I gave another try and I like it know. Sadly my Hotas Cougar broke so I ll get another off time from CloD till I get something new
So, as I said, the game is still not in the shape they promised before and thats a shame. That has to be said. If I am rightly dissapointed I have to clarify to those guys why I am. Bashing is not very constructive but praising it as if it is there is all in best shape aswell isnt. That should be clear to everyone here.

Yeah, right robtek ... full fledged flight sim...

This statement will be remembered and is going to haunt you in the future... get your Stahlhelm ready.

Like robtek I have faith. That's why the drop has been so hard each patch.
But if Luthiers statement regarding an insane fps increase is true then that's it.
Only the FM/DM purist together with the few SLI/CF gamers are left to whine.

Don't know if you guys saw the antialiasing thread where you now can alter the overall ingame colors without any performance hit. Now the color debaters can quit and fix their own color.

Ok, we have radio comms issue still but with the above fixed most of us can go flying instead.

I hope and pray.

And those like me who think that a 2011 flight sim should have an AI worthy of its time and not a step back from the earlier sim.

If I sit at home and can't find immersion in the simulation of air combat no multitude of shaders, polygons or clever algorythms are going to help. I don't care much if some houses in Kent are at the wrong location (sorry kentish flight simmers), or if a Fairey Albabribton has its off set wings wrongly modelled by 0.7 degrees or if my six gpu setup needs an own power house.

But if the single player experience lacks all the smoke and mirrors fail miserably.

I still have a few sliders at reduced settings to keep minimum frame rates above about 25ish (in most cases).

From where I sit any time in the forseeable future if I get an increase in minimum frame rate I'll be uping those settings.

High frame rates are great but I'ld rather a consistent low frame rate that looks good rather than a high frame rate with stutters.

Cheers!

Strangely enough I DON'T see most of the so called 'fanboi's' flying CoD.

From that I can only think that the so called 'whiners' are fans of the game, and want it to succeed, but are adult enough to realise there are huge problems with the game, but still fly it anyway. Even Luthier is embarrassed about it enough to apologise.
The 'fanboi's' on the other hand just come here to argue, and are nowhere to be seen online.
And no, sitting in your bedroom at your moms house waiting for her to call you down to dinner whilst defending CoD at all costs does not make you a big man on the internet, even if you do call yourself ace...
And listen up kids, the plural of whine is 'whiner', NOT 'whinner' which makes no sense at all in the English language. Ask your teacher about it tomorrow.
I can't it CTD within seconds sometimes minutes. So I remain patient and play offline for now. But you don't see me crying or whinnnnnnning about it.

That are no fans, that are people which pull things down to elevate themselves.

Real fans don't whine, real fans write bug reports with documented facts and try to help the devs and the community!

CoD was a premature baby, but look how it has developed already.

The next official patch will, imo, elevate CoD to a full fledged sim, where the devs can start to get the icing on the cake.

But that is just my opinion, which is shurely not shared by everybody.
and they are to blame for the banking crisis....

I call it "desperation".

Some of us are still here because there's no realistic WW2 sims on the horizon (except, maybe, World of Planes)

Still I've been raped during the release... and I'm angry about that.

PS: I'm angry about RO2 too... what's happening to the videogames industry? Why can't they release complete games?
