Thank you very much for your work.
I have to admit that although I am a fan of Oleg's work since Il-2 Sturmovik's first demo, I didn't know much about World War II aviation before. And even today if you give me a new aircraft which served historically in a certain time and area, I wouldn't know about it and couldn't set up a proper mission that is historical correct, I only would get to the part that is entertaining me. Naturally, since I haven't read much or learned nothing elsewhere before.
I first encountered the SB-2 in Sturmovik in the finnish B-239 single player mission. Easy targets in the N1 mission without fighter protection. The mission shed a tiny speck of light on the war of Finland against the Soviet Union, while the flying was easy enough. The next mission was tougher and I learned more about the B-239 and the mission's background. So you can say that Il-2 Sturmovik in itself is a learning tool, if mission designers (and the rest of the accessed community) shared their wisdom and are wilfully absorbed.
Having that said, I'm very interested in seeing the SB-2 added to the flying roster. And I wish for some experts (read: the SB-2 team itself or their supporters, because they know the aircraft best -) design a few missons with the release of the SB-2. That way we could start to fly like we should. I for myself would like see for example a single player mission in the Baltic theater of operations, but with with a higher guarantee of success than described above.
Please?
