I've not been in the latest generation of water cooled 911s yet.
One of our customers had the original version. It was, in a word, forgettable. Hence, he now drives a Boxter S, a car that I do indeed lust after. About the best "modern" car I have driven, in terms of still having those subjective ideals of soul and passion, was the Ferrari 550 Maranello. It belonged to one of our vintage racing services customers so I had occaision to drive it. In his words it was "reliable as a Honda", but it still made the blood race and the hairs on the back of your neck stand on end. Of course it should for what it costs. The only problem with it was that it put your driver's licensce in great peril at all times...
