Well it's Andromeda and a spiral galaxy. Obviously the lower half is nearest the centre, the upper half is farther away. That's why some of the stars above are obscured by the centre as they are behind it.

well but without perceiving depth you cant be really sure

maybe the galaxy has some deformated rings

though id say the position its as it looks

On top of it. The widest part of the 'disc edge' is nearest, the edge that is farthest away will appear smaller.
