Mission four. Day 3 take off at 8 am. Mission intercepts some bomber Bembridge airfield at 7000 Ft. so the briefing says. It is a long climb and the bombers are not at the “rendez-vous”! Not yet arrived and they are higher than announced by the plotter, more than 15000 ft. a difficult climb followed and a pursuit of 9 he111 p2 only after 15 min did I overtake them hit one and lose control of my plane to regain it only after losing 2000 feet of altitude. The last plane of the group is badly hit and is losing altitude and is contact with his group, he is ready for the final killing hits. Some minutes later it is done and a wheel down, an engine streaming smoke and a radiator some white smoke, the plane losing fast altitude this all ends in a great splash of water. But my engine also has problems oil is at 100° and glycol 85°. The engine runs normally I dive, in a swallow from 1300 feet’s to ground level from Brighton to Wilmington Airfield where I land without a problem other than my engine does size up the moment I reduce the rpm’s when I touch the ground. One official He111 victory for me a second German bagged. All ammo gone for one plane down this Germans are tough buggers. Weather clear without clouds no wind to speak of. No one else did intercept the Germans.

Is there a key to just skip time completely until something happens? In missions I just usually have the accelerate key down until in combat. it'd be nice to just press ALT-T and you have just jumped 20mins ahead

I started the east campaign and changed the max planes to 50 and min to 20.
I haven't spent too much time flying around looking for a fight. Most missions I have played I took off, climbed to alt, and patrolled the coast till I saw some flak smoke and investigated. Didn't get a chance to get bored.
I actually really like the sense that you don't know what to expect.

What is the Maximum for the numbers of planes in a west map campaign?

One last remark; the victory tally from one mission to the next does not work at all! Otherwise thanks for your effort continue this way and let us hope for the future.

Have a very nice game.

Mission five day 4 5am. Mission intercepts German planes at altitude 2000m above Sandown. Take off no problem but wingmen’s once again does not know the meaning of following the leader. Two minutes after takeoff they have gone with the wind nowhere to be seen. I climb to 15000 feet better to be safe than sorry, direction south of the Isle of Wight. Good for me I did because in place of bomber I found a bunch of 109 at 9000 feet due north. This time I had the upper hand, in the sun higher and more speed. My only problem one Spitfire against 8 109’s! A dive, one, two and three hit on so many different 109’s, damaged not destroyed, my speed was to great that my gunnery was to imprecise, rushed, hasty. But the fourth and last I hit lost is rudder also I did not see any parachute, when the plane crashed in the sea, so did I hit the pilot? The rest of the 109 did try to make me pay for their comrade, ten or fifteen minutes of dogfight first at 6000 feet and to end at 100 feet. Lucky for me they were not there to fight with me but to destroy a flight of four Blenheim’s that got through without a scratch maybe because of me? After more than one hour of flying I did land at the home base with less than 10 gallons of fuel. Landed at 6.15am. Once again no clouds. 3 BF109 damaged one destroyed but not confirmed.

Like me I hope you have a fun game.

The wingmen not following is a game bug. Use Autopilot when taking off until it's fixed.

That's a good question. I think the real question is "what is the maximum number of airgroups"? I only use even numbers for airgroups so my guess is that the maximum is fifty. If there are an average of five aircraft per airgroup, that's a maximum of 250 aircraft.

I'll see if I can find a problem with victory logging. If you wouldn't mind could you keep an eye on the logs for me and post anything that you think looks relevant? Here's luthier's post explaining how to enable logging.
