Do you do a lot of downloading ?

I know of a case where someone suddenly had bad conection speeds, after lotsa calls to his ISP it turned out he was being "Throttled" because his usage was adjudged to have been excessive

?Where did those extra hand come from. Router problem? I'm not tech. savy but if it's in over heating problem? get a Griffon engine put it behind your system and that should fix the problem and you have the engine/prop for effects. I'm sorry you are having this problem I had the some thing last week here in the U.S with connection. FUSTRATINGI
GILLY this week. It a visious cycle and who really knows is beyound me.
my microwave dead and now I'm having to boil water on the stove. Papa's tv went out and had to listen to the radio. Oppa's car broke down and had to ride a horse to get around. Stupid technology. GOOD LUCK IN FINDING THE PROBLEM. I looking into my heating problem. So thanks for this post.

The scariest part replacing the thermal paste will probably be separating the heat sinks from the chips.

As for the speed test, it seems kinda low, assuming your report is in bps rather than Bps. Are you on cable or DSL and what type of plan are you signed up for? ( 5Mbs?, 10Mbs?) Do you find your connection is slower at peak hours?

StiC

edit: Ignore my speed test remarks after some conversions I realized I used to play at 500Kbs upload no problem except for voice.

Scotty, What speed are you on with Virgin Media? I think something is not right. The lowest sevice they do now is 10megabit. So you should be getting close to 10mbps download and 1mbps upload. I'm on Virgin Media's old 20mb service and I'll show you my speeds from your links.

1st one - http://www.speedtest.net/
download - 19.66Mbps upload - 1.72mbps ping - 5ms

2nd - http://www.broadbandspeedchecker.co.uk/
download - 19640 Kbps upload -1466 Kbps

3rd - http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/diagnostics
download - 19707kbps streaming speed 1?? - 10697kbps streaming speed 2 - 19599Kpbs

4th - http://www.speedtest.bbmax.co.uk/
download - 19669kbps upload 1845Kbps ping 25ms

So even if you are only on the 10mb service you should be getting half of my speeds. You are not even getting a quarter speed.

How old is your Modem? If its an old silver NTL one, It might not be able to manage the speed you should be getting.
