Do the flames only appear out off the exhaust stubbs if you are using the complex engine management setting as i have not seen this effect and i have seen it appear on other pictures and videos even during the day
Flame and exhaust smoke are rendered only if CEM enabled because where generated accordingly to piston position, mixture, engine temp, altitude... all parameter that where calculated only with CEM enabled
