Correct. He doesn't get out much, so this was a pretty big deal.

yeah, I remember watching a BBC documentary some time ago about him and his nightmare life after the Apollo mission, poor man! His barber started selling locks of his hair and he wasn't too impressed!

Did u talk to him? I remember the journalist saying "my real issue was what would you ask to a man that has probably been asked everything?"

What was the Rolls-Royce trophy doing in front of an Allison-powered P-38 anyway?

I did not talk to him. The RR trophy was for warbird restoration at the 2003 Dayton Air Show. There were several categories. Glacier Giirl won best overall.
