Because the real potential is missed by miles... And no miracle happened during US release. And it is quite hard to swallow for almost everyone here...

No only for a few, and it is a touch unfair to expect miracles.

If it would be just a "few", there would never be anything like Ali Fish petition and flames like never before... And look, I am in my opinion still same. I am not changing "sides". Many like me left for ever and don't care anymore. The last flame wars here are just between fanboys and "former" fanboys... I was always so called "whiner" here...

Opitz, if you really had left forever and didn't care you wouldn't be posting in this forum. I believe it was Tree_UK who made the petition not Ali_fish. It is just a few anyway, 80 or so people signed it which in sales terms is a very very small number. In terms of the members on this forum it is a small number. My opinion on wether or not the petition was valid is irrelevant, the moderators make the rules here and what they say goes.

Adonys your post is well reasoned, however you generalise with customers. I am not profoundly unhappy with the game, and I also feel that the communication has been adequate under the circumstances. I have stated this before but I guess once more won't do any harm. The major bugs and problems have been acknowledged by the developers and it has been communicated that these are being worked on as a priority. Until the patch comes out I don't feel another word needs to be said. This is purely my opinion though I can understand that yours is different.

Ok then now that he admits to be a whiner can we please issue a ban for this man?

There are just a few moaners on every flightsim CoD section trying to do the same : give CloD bad publicity by creating spamfests of whiner threads that have constuctive value of 0.

Luckily the satisfied and normal people recently found than what is enough is enough so we can get a more objective view on what is happening with the sim.

Can agree with this. Someone mentioned yesterday that he comes to this forum to warn potential customers before they buy CloD, i.e. to reduce CloD sales trying to make it fail as a revenge for personal disappointment.

The intention and methods are clear. Existing customers will not benefit from it. Should community tolerate it on developer's forum? It is up to each community member to decide.

Let me make some things clear to you all.

This game has potential, as long as the developers are working on it.

The developers will work on it, as long as they are paid.

They are paid, as long as there is a prospect for potential revenues from future customers.

The future customers will only exist (considering this is a niche market game) if the current customers are happy about trade's fairness (the release state of the game, current state of the game and the fixing pace in order) to become future customers.

The current customers were profoundly unstatisfied with the release state, generally not satisfied with the current state of the game nor with the pace of developer's fixing the sale-advertised/minimum game necessary broken systems nor with the lack of constant communication regarding the fixing progress.

The developers can't change the current game's state over night, nor increase the fixing pace..

So, what simple logic tells you is the solution to make current customers happy enough in order to secure future sales (and eventually fullfil the potential of the game in order to widen the potential-customers area)?!!

I think your simple logic fails... Let's just say, there is still a hope among customers, that this game will get repaired over next several months. It is based partly on blind faith, partly on the rest of the customer trust in Luthier's words. As we have one more wise saying in czech - Hope dies as last...

obviously, any reasoning, no matter how logic, must bow before the reality's cruel truth..

PS: i think you've missed the third reason which could make customers happy enough
