Mine assumption aswell, apart from what is surely to be another deadline. It seems Ubi might just want to get their aimed funds (juices) out of this game and quit it like they did with IL2. They don`t care if it raises hell over here boards either.

But it still is way better than in 2001/2002. A big part of IL2 community not only didn`t know of IL2 surfacing. It wasn`t even available in any retail stores to get.
That is why I`m kinda prepaired for DLCs as a tool to keep it going.

I think DLC makes the most sense. It's a small development studio and the publisher isn't pushing the product at all. Niche market too.
Virtually all development studios release DLC these days, and I'm quite surprised that so far, we've gotten a lot of content for free* that could easily have been DLC.

*Aside from paying for the game of course.

I don't think they would have the cheek to ask for DLC.

That depends on what they`re providing this way. It`s out of the question that any content sold this way would have to be 99% quality. What I mean is that they`re not too good with providing quality. There`s a difference between selling a game via retail for 30$ and releasing a single four engine bomber for say 8$. You don`t even pay such amount of money for dlc cars in FM3.
Other than that it`s not nice to ask money for what should have been in the very v1.0 of the game. So they should make sure that once I pay for this dlc I want to feel that I`m not getting ripped off. Personally I dislike all kinds of dlc and prefer big expansions, even for the same retail price (I didn`t think twice about buying Super Street Fighter 4 AE once I saw what`s new for example).
And when you give me that kind of content, provide something to go with it - full scale of armament that comes with a certain plane variant. Themes would be great : release a bomber pack, a fighter pack, a scenario pack.

But Before they could even think about DLC they would have to rebuild trust by fixing COD.
Once that is in a releasable state then they could maybe start with DLC.

If they go the DLC route, I hope they do it the Same way as Arma 2.

Everyone gets the DLC for free, but with low textures. You then pay money if you want high textured models/landscape.

That way, it puts everyone on the same page and doesn't create a divide in the online community.

If the DVD is to be on the store shelves on the 19th I suppose the game has gone gold and the duplicators have had it for a week.

I would expect a patch on Steam on the 19th to bring the North American DVD up to date.

My gut feeling is the DVD release date of July 19 will be push back again.
