This is one of the reasons i havent touched COD anymore. DCS has got what it takes to keep me playing for hours. COD makes me wonder where it all went wrong go figure.....

I've had hours of fun simply getting the engines and avionics started up in DCS A-10 since it arrived on Tuesday.

The latest patch installs cockpit shadows for more realism.

When the CoD Beta Patch was installed, I did a quick Black Death Benchmark, saw the missing vehicles and switched it off.

Back to the A10 for now then...........

you should try this with the latest patch is excellent
Could you please tell what kind of online missions it has? Are there only ground attack missions in coop style or both sides fly A10 against each other or A10 has Black Shark opposition or the whole Flaming Cliffs 2/DCS series is compatible online?

Are the missions similar to Il-2 dogfight or coop? Is there an online war similar ADW?

F-16 would be great IMO. It's very versatile, it has very good performance, a long service record and it still flys today. From this point of view a F18 would also be cool. But no F15 or F14. Too heavy and not very versatile (not talking about the air to ground variants).

I am looking forward to play DCS A-10 (I own black shark). Its very nice to learn and finaly master all these complex systems and that is what makes it interesting.

It is like IL2 coop, but with respawn, and AI does not fly a player plane if no player chooses it. Mainly COOP ground attack. Of course you can go A10 vs A10, but it would be weird. Compatibility with Black Shark is planned this year, compatibility with Flaming Cliffs is in rumor stage.

The interesting thing is ability to give side tasks to units, change their aggressiveness, targets, radio frequencies. If you like mission building, you should get it. COOP close air support missions could be very hard and interesting, if you have to work at danger close distance from friendlies in changing battlefield.

P.S.: wait for Russian version, it should be released pretty soon.

So at least i have the A-10C. Great. I really like the start up procedure. Its fantastic. To get this bird alive is awesome. I am very happy to have it now.

Tons of guides are to find.Made just a little booklet. Now i have to print the airbases wich i found on Virtuelles JG32.

I am a nugget but i enjoy contacting tower for engine start, permission for taxiing etc.

Great sim.

DCS looks awesome but it's a modern flight sim for hardcore users. Is there an arcade mode where you just fly the thing without having a brain explosion looking at all the buttons? Also does it have a mission builder?

Yes to both. There is an arcade mode with simplified avionics and weapons system and a full mission builder
