The coop mode is the reason myself and a lot of others bought this game, and yet the game is nearly 4 months old and I still can't play it.

I don't want to be a whiner, but I'm just so extremely frustrated, and my patience is rapidly running out.
Thing is, buy the time this game works properly, most will have given up with waiting.
Or a new sim will be out that people move to

Back to the RoF offline career then.

Has anyone got any links for any new flight sims that are on the horizon?

DCS series will continue. Loft from RoF mentioned "new projects" but did not specify (I guess smth in the F2P direction considering their last move.)

But for WWII this one is the last one.

A note from Luthier on what they are working on every two weeks or so would be enough for me. Its very hard to get alot done in a week or two.

There are no new WW2 aircombat simulators on the horizon. The Gaijin developers of WOP are working on something, but I'm not so sure it will be anything that the IL-2 crowd would be interested in. Many in the community bought their first sim, but there was nothing in it, to hold their attention for very long.

Exactly!
That's why keeping in touch is so vital!
And don't tell me a little update is too much work,c'mon!
If people get the feeling(wrongly no doubt, but still..)they care much than the dev's do,well, it's lights out!

Its hard to believe how impatient people have become. Time goes by very slowly for us, but we seem to have no idea how quickly a week or two goes by for the developers when your working under that time pressure. Its taken years to get to this state in the sim and its not going to finished in a few weeks, or months. Luckily it appears the early release sales have kept the bean counters at bay, the development team intact, and working.

Chivas, the reason we have become inpatient is were waiting for the sim to be fixed.
If the sim was working well in SP(no campaign) or MP(no sound or coops) we would have something to do.

Were waiting for Luthier to tell us the game we paid for is now working.

By now we should have realized the game isn't finished and won't be finished for some time. Heckling the developer isn't going to finish the sim any sooner. Yes you could be very pissed the community wasn't made aware just how unfinished the sim was, but that would have killed the sim just as effectively as the publisher dropping funding. I also agree that the publisher could have stated it was going to be a paid beta, but I doubt that would have garnered enough funds to continue development.

We have multiple choices..
1. We can help the developer as much as we can with beta testing and constructive criticism
2. We can enjoy the features that are in the sim until others features are added or fixed
3. We can buy the sim and move on to other things and hope our monetary support will make a difference
4. We can wait a few years for another developer
5. We can spam the forums with vindictive negativity that can only drive away prospective customers, so we can tell everyone we told you so in an empty forum.
