I believe it's difficult, if not impossible, to find a PC game (I might add a finished one) that would not run flawless with the system specs in question.

Of course it's common sense that the more stress you put the CPU under, or for that matter, the GPU, RAM or HDD's you will suffer in performance degradation. (e.g.adding more planes, more objects, etc.)

Regards.

I like to be on the same page with other posters, so I try to use the correct terms when possible.

I agree with you that the sim could be more streamlined in its performance. My biggest wish is that they move over some game functions of the main core to other less utilized cores. This would greatly increase performance on most computers because most CPU's are wasting precious cycles.

But I also want to state that a lot of people underestimate the computing power needed by a modern and serious flight sim. There is so much happening under the hood (calculations wise). Even an old fight sim like Flight simulator X (released 2006 if I'm correct) can still put great strain on modern computers. My first introduction to the IL2 Sturmovik brand was with Pacific Fighters. In those days I had a > €3000,- rig but that sim was at least as heavy to run so not heavier.
