Default Here's my attempt

Not sure how the original was exposed, what type of film, day of time, etc but here's a rough attempt.

lancer, have a little look-see at the pic on the previous page... your picture with the other pic's post-processing could be awesome as well. The previous one is pretty fascinating, imo ^-^

If you're going for a WW2 look, you'll need to compress the dynamic range. Try the curves or levels tool in photoshop.

Played with levels and contrast a bit.

Lancer- according to this link the picture was taken at 6.48pm on 7th October 1940.

I've also seen it noted that it was taken at 5pm.
I like your effort but it needs more shadow highlights to match the later time of day.

yeah, unless the photographing plane has got a VERY strong flashlight, there should've been at least some sunlight, as the plane is partly lit from above. And the shadows would correspond to early evening imo.

Also, maybe you should zoom in a little more on the plane. In the original, both wings 'end over the thames', perspectivically. If you can do that in the first place... I for my part have got certain issues with zooming which I've not figured out (or bothered with) yet

edit: @chicomick wow, very, very nice, especially the first pic.
I think you hit the sweet spot where the sim is nearly indistinguishable to reality on that 'photo'. The cloud shadows add quite a lot on this, imo
Now we can create alternate history and sell it to historians! They certainly would give a lot for a photo which shows that first german bomber to hit the london docks!
