the shot is pre 14550 patch. i changed the ingame shaders/special effects then took a screenshot then re-balanced the colour in photoshop. Image/adjust/auto colour. simples !

It works really well, gives the Spitfire real presence.

Really? RBflight, who posted that screenshot on sukhoi.ru a few days ago, said it was a modification of normal maps and little more.

But I am reading that site through a translator, so....

well i guess i better inform everyone what i have done then. and dont bother doubting me im upfront and honest! anyway its nice to cause a stir, mwahahaha..

I have Not touched a normal map. All ive done is changed some specular textures visually, and specular values in a config file only. that config is the combined material.mma file. all the specular textures are in the same folder. then the post processing is as ive already explained.

Default Excellent

Ali Fish - love that image - reminds me of posters of the spit.

@ataros - I'll try and recreate that shot tonight. Very iconic indeed.

@redroach - just followed a simple tutorial online but the best part is I recorded it as an action in photoshop which allows me to batch process most of it - I can then go back and tweak specific shots depending on the composition. I'll post detailed instructions in a bit - the link to the tutorial is on my home computer.

Ah, that does give a pleasing effect.

Now, for some of my pics

I love this shot, it reminds me of the 'last resting place' of some old aircraft, no longer needed. As a kid I used to play in an old Anson which lay rusting and gradually sinking into rising the grass... sigh
