Thanks Kankkis (and thanks roadczar), but I think I will follow Codex and wait for an official profile. At least we seem to have some evidence that an official profile will help.
My game is running quite well (when in Psueudo mode) as is, so I am happy enough to wait for further patches and an ATI/AMD profile for the time being I am sure we will get a fully functioning full screen mode with proper xfire support in due course.
