I really feel for the guys having problems running this game. I count myself incredibly lucky that I find it just gets better with each update. The last hotfix has given me smooth, steady game play with no nasty graphical anomalties and glitches apart from a little flickering flying through white cloud and very slight tree shadow flickering. Fps are a bit low and patchy over London, especially attacking bombers but then I don't have a top end system. I have everything at maximum except for SSAO on and mirrors off and probably average 30 to 40 fps.
Everyone is running the same code yet some have endless problems whilst others just don't seem to. It seems the difference must lie somewhere in the configuration of the different systems and or the hardware used. I am not saying the problems are the fault of the people who are struggling as a PC game should run on any PC given its specs are high enough. I am sure the developers are doing this but I think it is important to correlate problems encountered with system specs and setups to try and find common causes and effects. Just to say the game is crap is pointless because in a lot of cases it obviously isn't.
I really hope they can get these issues nailed soon so they can move onto other stuff like replacing placeholders etc. etc.
I am in your boat, every patch better than the last. However I must have less faith in humanity, since I am pretty sure that a heck of a lot of the whining on these forums are cases of PEBKAC.

Hi,

this hotfix is for me a step backward. I have to disable clouds and shadows, it worked well with the beta patch. Now i have to lower some texture /environment details too. More stutters than previous patch, sometimes crashes. Game is a new installation.

These are my first tests with the new patch. Propellor is fine, had an engine hit and engine stoped working in the Spit. Really beautiful this new animation.

Im the same it gets better with each full patch, I have had some set backs with some of the betas, I tend to agree with a your last comment as well, just the config.ini thing will be causing a lot of problems, the new ini files are a lot different to the old, so anyone that has turned cloud save off will be stuck with an old incompatible file, I had some issues with crashing with this patch, until I followed Luthiers advice and downloaded the proper file, it was a pain because I had to redo my settings, but I havent had any issues since doing this.

Just wondering, if all the people with sound problems are running seperate cards or onboard sound, must be some reason that many have this issue while the rest dont.

Onboard sound and getting the occasional loss of sound. Sometimes it comes back, others require a restart.

Luthier and Devs,

Check link below, tripled on my Crossfire framerate. Steady 60FPS over london and really smooth.
