Just spent the weekend setting up my new G940 for 4 different sims.
Still not set up to my liking for all of them though.
Make sure you delete all existing axes controls in the controls menus and re-assign them to how you want them set up as you go along.
I had a similar problem until I realised how to a)assign all controls to where I want them, and b) use the profiling software .
The biggest problem I currently have is in IL2, where the stick is almost locked solid when flying a spit! Even turning all forces down to 5% still has it very stiff.
Also make sure you download the latest software and update the firmware as per the guidance here,
