okay so umm... cant see that steam is automatically downloading patch, and i have it set to...

so i downloaded it from megaupload site, saved to desktop... do i just copy the downloaded file and paste it into steam/steamapps/common/il2cliffs of dover file

and then good to go ??

Yes, copy the folders and allow them to overwrite If you have issues, go to Steam Library, select properties and select verify integrity of cache and it will revert to the latest official patch.

From what I have seen.. a significant number of the posts are generated by people not knowing how to update the game, and the fairly complex structure under Win7 where the same fiels are stored in different locations

i pasted all files into il-2 folder,

now when i try to launch game, launcher stops working and program shuts down...so no more game




guess time to delete and reload ...

try setting fullscreen to "pseudo" as this worked for me.
the fullscreen is broken afaik

What version you have, Russian or European ?

You should download the patch assigned to your version.

To repair the game click on it in Steam and go to properties, then click local files.

Now click Verify the integrity of cache, Steam will revert all changes.

I'm not expecting too much improvement in fps because since last patch the performance is pretty high at least in my system ( 19-152 fps in Black Death)
We need more content and gameplay improvements...

On a positive note, there didn't seem to be any Launcher crashes after changing settings in video options

i downloaded from just flight so, european version....

i just ended up uninstalling and reinstalling have about 73% left to install, because verfiying the intergrity thru steam did nothing , so idk...

im at a loss to be honest.... i pasted all files into il-2 cliffs of dover file , and would no longer start up game...

Steam will only upgrade the game to the latest release version. The beta patch requires a manual download and install as you have found out.

Once it is stable it will be put on steam as an automatic download.
