Rear gunner problems

Am I doing this wrong? I use the mouse to move the gun and 1) It is so slow to move and 2) while you are firing you cannot move to adjust your aim. It's like it locks into place like a safety mechanism. Surely this can't be right? It's next to useless.

you can add another key to USE ITEM (keyboard key!) then you can move and fire at the same time..
