The MoBo that binky9 is looking at is an Asus Sabertooth P67.

Cool, that was not the point of gratos.
I said it depends on the Mobo. He said: |

Sorry guys for the challenge.
I just realised that the Asus Sabertooth P67 is actually running on dual-channel and not in tripple channel as I was thinking ( i5 can handle dual channel, i7 can handle dual or tripple channel). So forget everythingI mentionned about 3 times yyGb of RAM, you can only put 2 or 4 RAM pieces inside so, 2x4Gb = 8Gb makes perfect sense and your specs are fine! My mobo is pure i7 thus tripple channel and that was confusing me.... ~S~ |

All,
Thanks the inputs. But, the $1,271 is still causing me to waver. I'll have to make a decision today or tomorrow. (Like many, I have a wife to consider) My ace in the hole is I'll be putting everything in the same case, so she may not notice anything. binky9 |

Right now, only 1366 socket (X58 chipset) features triple channel.
