Ah - you must be the little idiot.

The MoBo that binky9 is looking at is an Asus Sabertooth P67.

Sorry guys for the challenge.

I just realised that the Asus Sabertooth P67 is actually running on dual-channel and not in tripple channel as I was thinking ( i5 can handle dual channel, i7 can handle dual or tripple channel).

So forget everythingI mentionned about 3 times yyGb of RAM, you can only put 2 or 4 RAM pieces inside so, 2x4Gb = 8Gb makes perfect sense and your specs are fine!

My mobo is pure i7 thus tripple channel and that was confusing me....

All,

Thanks the inputs. But, the $1,271 is still causing me to waver. I'll have to make a decision today or tomorrow. (Like many, I have a wife to consider)

My ace in the hole is I'll be putting everything in the same case, so she may not notice anything.

You are confusing chipsets with processors. 1155 socket also has an i7. The mentioned in the first post.

Right now, only 1366 socket (X58 chipset) features triple channel.
