Ah but it does have the Meteor and MOSQUITO!
Its hust a shame they look pants compared to BoP's planes.

If it gets good reviews I might pick it up once it gets cheap, which I expect will be quickly.

This Dorothy Berbec sounds like an awesome character though. I want to meet her lol

i like the idea of a mossie and a b25 ( <<<thought BoP should have had that rather than the 20 OR a marauder would have been awesome). just wish they had put a prop driven us ac in the mix. the ww1 ac does intrigue me though. would be interesting to have a MP game set in all biplanes....but no se5A, spad, fokker tri,?? hope they decide on a dlc with more ac!

for all of you who were interested.... the more i read, i dont know if its something i am going to get.

Eschborn/Hamburg, 17. Juni 2011:dtp entertainment and bitComposer Games are releasing Air Conflicts: Secret Wars for PC today. The aerial combat simulation combines action-packed gameplay with a thrilling background story about a young female pilot, DeeDee who, as World War Two progresses, changes from a smuggler into a war heroine.
The varied scenarios will lead the player from the desert wastes of North Africa to Berlin, where he will fly secret missions with the help of the allied forces to determine the outcome of the war.

Air Conflicts: Secret Wars is now available in stores for Windows PC. The aerial combat action game will also appear on July 1, 2011 for Xbox 360® (39.99 €) and PlayStation®3 (39.99 €) in Germany, Austria and Switzerland, and is one of the first titles to exploit the full 3D support of the Xbox 360® and PlayStation®3. Owners of a PlayStation®Move motion controller can also count on the full support of the input device.

Air Conflicts: Secret Wars is an arcade aerial combat simulation which is based on real scenarios in the First and Second World War. The player will fly and fight his way through a total of 49 exciting missions, and can choose from numerous aircraft types with different features for each mission. He will have to complete a range of tasks during the missions, including patrol flights, reconnaissance activities, lightning strikes, bomber and escort flights. Once he has completed the missions, the player can improve his skills to allow him to control his aircraft more expertly or select a better co-pilot for example. Two control modes are available: in Arcade mode the flight controls are simplified, whereas Simulation mode offers a realistic and breathtaking flying experience. Besides Campaign mode, there are several multiplayer modes for up to eight players that can be played locally and over the Internet.

here's a whole couple pages of screen shots...some look really nice.

BUT here's the review that made me leary...

We get a lesson in dogfighting while seeing Air Conflicts: Secret Wars at this year's E3.

Air Conflicts: Secret Wars may be set in the World War II era, but it's not your typical military flight game. While other games pride themselves on realism, Secret Wars takes a more relaxed approach. Its arcade-style gameplay harks back to Crimson Skies rather than any version of Flight Simulator. While touring the show floor at this year's E3, we stopped by publisher Kalypso's booth to see how this light-heated flight game is coming along.

While Secret Wars is an arcade flight game, players more adapt at simulated flight controls will also find the option available to them. Whichever method your choose, you'll be playing as Dee Dee--the descendant of a World War I flying ace with her own role to play in the Second World War. Your struggle will take you through 49 missions from Europe to North Africa as you participate in dogfights, escort missions, stealth operations, and more. Some missions will even transport you back in time to World War I, complete with all the cumbersome, era-appropriate aircraft.

In between missions, there are a few ways to tweak your combat performance. Your plane's speed or maneuverability can be adjusted to suit the type of mission you'll be tackling next. Dee Dee will also unlock new abilities at set points during the campaign. One of these abilities is adrenaline, which is the game's equivalent of bullet time. Using adrenaline, you can line up that perfect shot against the enemy and score a critical hit on your opponent (which indicates you killed the pilot). Afterward, your opponent's plane will drop out of the air like a stone.

In the mission we saw, Dee Dee was tasked with sneaking past a German aerial patrol and eliminating some of the enemy's spies. It was explained that the key to doing this was to fly low and slow to avoid detection. However, the person piloting this demo decided to fly fast and kick butt for some added excitement. He also showed us how to pull a quick and dirty 180-degree turn by cutting the engines and opening the plane's flaps to full. While this may not be the safest tactic to use in an actual dogfight, it did help our pilot make quick work of the enemy troops.

If bombing the AI just isn't satisfying enough for you, Secret Wars will support up to eight-versus-eight multiplayer battles. You and your buddies can shoot each other out of the sky across several different modes, including Dogfight, Team Dogfight, and King of the Hill. With simple controls and cartoonish style, Air Conflicts: Secret Wars seems like an easygoing way to blow up some Nazis. The game will be released this August for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC.

I actually like Crimson Skies. I like it's overall silliness and the unpretentious nature of the game and would love to see a Crimson Skies 2. Still, I dont have very high hopes for this one and will certainly rent it before I buy it.

This is out on Friday. For anyone interested you can get it from Bee.com for £20 with this promotion:

The trailer showing the infantry and tanks looks interesting. Never seen that level of detail before. The spray of blood on strafed infantry looks amusing

I'm willing to bet it will be under £20 everywhere a couple of weeks after release anyway.
