maybe he means that steam could be in offline mode too.
well i can deal with steam and use it with lot of other games since hl2 release. its the best antipirate-system and VAC is the best anticheat. i dont understand why people have so much problems with steam in times of facebook and co. your IP could be logged anyway and there is no need to give them your real name  ps sorry for off topic
