I'm at work now; there is a key (Hold to zoom?) to map, search for it in the command options screen.
Holding down this key you can move your mouse to zoom in/out.
Mapping this key in your joystick and using your "mouse emulator" (if present) on your throttle is possible to zoom in/out easily.
