Q6600 is a masterpiece. It is one of THE best processors ever released. Intel released it on a 775 set as they didn't have so much power over the market. Now they there planning to release 3 NEW LGA's and the year after they'l probably do 6... Its a joke... 775 lasted from Pentium 4 too the Q series. 1156 hasn't even lasted a year.

Thanks for the table, it really simplifies things. On oc UK there's a i3 system for 350. There's an i5 2500 for double at 706 - is it really worth that much more, when the i3 is easily OCd to 4ghz?

Probably not. The difference can go towards a video card, or more Ram.
