I read somewhere that it is possible to disable the interactive cockpit, anyone care to offer some help pointing me in the right direction?

hi all i am trying to run the sim on win7 64bit and i am geting the black screen see no planes etc etc.... i will try to do the redist direct x thing and hope it works is there any thing else i can try?
