a) It is not the job of a reviewer to support a product. Period. His job is to give an objective review of what he is being presented.
b) Who do you think will buy into the "forced out the door" story, true as it may be, after a developing time as long as COD's?

If you have professional testers, they are much more like looking into details and also aspects of games normal players don't even see. Of course, that depends on the reviewers
Even the most professional reviewer, seeing all the details, will be stumbed by a flight sim that allows planes to fly with no wings. Disregarding on which difficulty settings.

Maybe my wording could have been better, but I meant the developer has a history of supporting his products, not the reviewer.

Most reasonable people could easily buy the "forced out the door" story.

Missing that the Hurri could fly with both wings missing could be missed by the beta testers. Not often would you lose both wings and the beta tester would probably bail out in that situation. This could also be a arcade flight model issue. Beta tester won't find all the problems, and even if they did, the developer probably couldn't fix them all in a timely manor. Luckily we have a developer who supports his sims after they are released. So with a little foresight its quite easy to cut the developer some slack.

"Notice no weird texture or object pop-ins. You can see buildings for miles and miles."

And people blasting the "save the private Ryan" filter of WOP (I hate it too) are the very same ones saying nothing about the "teletubbies" green of Clodo
