I'm flying to Kiev next month, so guess where I'll be buying MY copies of CoD.... I already have a Russian Win7 on my PC so that angle is covered- my Ukrainian Il2:46 install runs happily on my W7 so there should be no problem with CoD.
It's not about price difference, but I will NEVER buy anything from UBI again- I was quite annoyed by their 4.05m/BoontyBox fiasco and the way they dealt with SH5 was the last straw for me. Last edited by GerritJ9; 03-19-2011 at 07:30 AM. |

You MAY persuade me to..... but remember that you will also need to install a Russian-language OS first. About 5 years ago SaQSon stated on the UBI forum that it was possible to install/run a Russian IL2 on an English Windows, but I never managed to achieve this despite my best efforts. The Russian IL2 discs check for the OS's language version before installing, and IL2 won't even install on an English Vista or W7 Ultimate with Russian interface pack installed- I tried that too. So you will need a Russian XP at the very least- I'm not sure whether CoD will run on W2000.

In windows 7 is very simple, just go to windows update, and select the complete russian language package. I install japanese and chinese sowftware in my spanish windows just making this update.

Tried that, but IL2:46 wouldn't install even when using the Russian interface.

1st : set the OS language setting using Regedit. some times, the localiced problems read only the default keyboard setting. Add russian in the keyboard layout. 2st : install over a virtualized OS, using VirtualBox or similar. |
