3:12 - is it "Invulnerability" in effect or it won't be possible to collide with debris/junk in the air at all?

Right now, the clips are being scrutinized for every last detail, but once we are playing, and the immersion takes over, none of that will become obvious or important.

This is going to be a blast to fly.

Great video. Really like the detailed 3d damage on the planes. The Spitfire getting nailed in the end looked like right out of a real guncam movie. Don't know if there were a lot of cinema effects used so it's hard to say if what we saw is really what we're going to get ingame. Got the feeling that post effects were on as in RoF, I can do without that so hope, if it's there, it's optionable. The reason it looks like the 111's doors are not springloaded is because it's in slow motion.

What really gets me is the superb details of the aircraft. The detail is so good that the 3d people start to look out of place. Almost like scale model aircraft. Just Amazing to see the spits engine under the cowling. The effect of the cowl flying off was also fantastic. Not a canned effect but the actual part, recognizable, flopping away in the slipstream.

Only serious complaint I have is at 0:47. Very unrealistic. The Italians flew in open cockpits and the pilot wears his summer uniform without flying cap. His hair is badly modelled. Xilon is probably going to refute this but I'm sticking with it.

@Raggz, you owe me breakfast and a new keyboard.

Oleg the CoDfather - I love it What a way to drown. Only one new troll so far today. It seems the CoDfather's marketing strategy is working: offer quality, improve it as needed and don't make outrageous claims with CFS3ish CGI videos.

So was the self shadowing turned off because the game engine is limited or because the machine of the guy who made the video reached its limits?

Forum members:

No after effects were used to enhance the video in a cinematographic way, only in-game effects, except for slight use of colour and shake filters.

The video was made in basically 1 week after access was granted to the game, same basic gameplay as IL-2 and easy to learn and use.

Shadows were turned down.

Sometimes vulnerability was off, realistic gunnery off, etc. just to make it easier to capture the desired situation.

Slow motion was obtained by recording at very slow game speeds, much slower than IL-2 1946.

The movie was made in full HD mode at 25fps

Kindly note that the game made available to me was still a BETA version and it would be undesirable for me to comment on any technical or gameplay matters

The only comment I am prepared to make is that this game will totally surprise everyone.
