Well, I for one know that he isn't infallible, can't see the future and doesn't always have more information than we do. It isn't a religious faith, after all.

I also doubt he sits like Santa watching each DVD produced by elves ...but you never know

Well I wouldn't get too harsh on Oleg. he said the 25th and it looks like in the old world that is still going to be pretty close.
Just us poor souls in North America will probably have to wait an extra month, which is not uncommon for euro-games I am led to believe.

Guys, have some perspective. This game was originally supposed to come out in 2006. That's five years ago. I was really excited too -- only a week left! -- so I was extremely disappointed, and yes, annoyed, that news of the delay came so close to the planned release date.

But at the same time: 1) After a five-year delay, does anyone want it rushed out with glitches, multiplayer infrastructure that still needs tweaking, or other issues? 2) After a 260-week delay, a delay of a few more weeks is only about 1% more.

I'm quite certain 1C and Ubisoft have a good reason for delaying. They want you to part with your money as much as you want to part with it. But software can be unpredictable, and delays happen with almost every software product. Fact of life.

Certainly, 1C and Ubisoft could have communicated this a LOT better. A short statement from someone in the company on the delay, and confirming new release dates in various territories, would do well in quelling the online vitriol.

But to see this degenerate into personal attacks on Oleg's integrity is just embarassing. It perpetuates the flight sim gamer stereotype, and is the kind of behavior that sent many of the flight sim developers of the 90s/early 2000's into different careers, because they were tired of the immaturity of the community. (That's not hyperbole -- two Jane's developers told me about -death threats- they received.)

It'll come out when it's ready. You may have to wait a few more weeks, but I'm sure you'll play it for years afterwards.*

<Shatner>Get a life. It's just a flight sim.</shatner>

* Unfortunately, given how rare it is to see new flight sims anymore, that's no exaggeration

Hmm shame that i have paid for this product as many others have and yet you seem to express the opinion that its ok that companies false advertise about dates, I thought the law was TBC untill a solid date was in place?
Mate if you went to a convenience store and walked around and picked your produce then 'after' you have paid for it the clerk said put all these things back please as they are just not ready for you to have yet, would'nt you feel taken aback?
Most of us paid for the pre-order because Oleg assured us that the 25th of March was SOLID.
None has flamed the dev's at all, and you are the only one perpetuating the Flight Simmer stereotype, i think that its bullshit tbh, as this FS community that I have been in and around since the first years of the internet is one of the more mature communities there is.
99% of the crap is by people who have nothing to do with the community. I've seen them enter the forums about a month before every new flight sim that ive been following and stir this sorta crap up.
It doesnt happen when there is plenty of info exchanged between the dev's and community sadly as the heat has turned up, the communities questions havent been answered as frequently this time which has helped lead to this situation.
Not sure what has happened this time but its not off the greatest of starts.

The main problem is that we have already paid

The game simply wasn't ready for release. They've been optimizing the sim until the last minute to get every last frame they can squeeze out of it. When you change things you can create bugs. Delays in the gold release causes delays all the way down the line for downloads, advertising, pressing, shipping etc. Its impossible to give a solid release date in this situation. If everything went well they may have made a March release, but it didn't.

You're comparing a -at tops- 3.5 hour movie to a game that would be played for years to come. That's laughable.

Come on. We've waited 6 years+ for this simulation. A week more or less won't kill you.
