Well im pretty disgusted at the games distributors in Australia generally and they wont be getting another cent from me in this country for any software until they get sensible about local pricing and availability.

Its just too easy to order it direct internationally online or get a friend or family to buy it and ship to you and still save money compared to local distribution.

Our retailers recently had the hide to also try and get local taxes added to international online purchases... If you cant compete in a global economy in retail with the advent of online sales its time for some of these people to think about a new vocation in life!

For the dutch guys:
I have send a email to simware and now they say they are not sure if they can sell it.
Then reading about bol.ch already having it for pre-order i have send a email to the customer service of bol.com and got this reply:

Geachte heer/mevrouw,

Gaan jullie de volgende pc game verkopen:
IL-2 Sturmovic: Cliffs of Dover
Release date: maart 2011

Default Ive setup a poll at UBI to let them know what our buying intentions are.

Ive setup a poll at UBI to let them know what our buying intentions are, to try and get them to do a decent job of supporting this wonderful game with decent distribution.

Please use it truthfully!

Have you ever run a business which has to compete with a huge online market?
Having a warehouse in the middle of nowhere and running a homepage has quite a different cost structure compared to a local shop with employees in the business district of your town.
You can never - ever compete with online prices.
Your local software shop's prices have to be higher than than the ones of the eshops, and you have find a way to justify them; service f.i..
How many computer shops with a real world shop where in your area 10years ago, how many today?

Sure trying to tax esales is cheap(and wrong), still you have to understand their position - in the end the consumer loses too, as there won't be any local shops left.

That's why I wondered if they really press two versions.
Most games sold over here are multi language(they just dont mention the language option on the cover).

Swiss, Its an Australian joke. They were refering to the Harvey Normans franchise which over here is quite big and they are very aggressive with their sales and have driven alot of little retail shops out of busness capturing a large market share, they are perceived as being very profit driven and service is one of those points that they could improve on. Mr Norman is now the one crying out that he can't compete even though they use a lot of off shore warehousing etc to reduce costs and minimise tax and payroll expenses.

Cheers!
