The entire terrain palatte that I'm seeing is simply too light to my eye and almost has a yellow exposure to it. As I said before, maybe it's just my monitor but the notion that some of us don't know what the outdoors looks like is absurd.

100% correct, the terrain is far too light for England, also the layout of English villages is way off.
