Well Dano, I was thinking the same thing as Merlin1...I'll tell you, I've been with Oleg and IL2 since the very beginning. and I bought every version and incarnation, add-on that ever came out, not to mention also shelling out bucks for that fiasco for PS3,.. so as a loyal customer who has put more than a couple dollars in Oleg's pocket, I feel I deserve some consideration in return.. But this SOW release is turning into a bit of a sad joke..we've been waiting now for more than 5 bloody years already!! Oh..it'll be released in Jan 2006, then sept 2006, then march 2007, then Dec2007..then on ..and on, and on...yawn..the REAL war didn't last this long.... can I be so bold as to suggest, why not do as was done with the IL2 series, release the darn thing, and then fix the gliches and bugs as we go with patches and updates. that would also be a much better, faster way to get glitches discovered and feedback ...

I've been waiting for SOW since its first announcement in 2003/4. Finally we are in the bug fixing, optimization faze of SOW. Except maybe for the completion of the German Campaign. This could take months depending on the severity of the bugs and optimizations. Take note how long its taking to debug the 4.10 patch, although they aren't working full time. |

We all know that the game:
a) will be released when it is finished, and b) will be finished when it is finished. So, the game definitively is'nt finished yet. Even so, Oleg has time and recourses to spend on minor details like the color of the exhaust flames, a detail that is allmost never visible, and 99.98% of the time has absolutely no impact on how the game is experienced. This tells me that a) the game must be very close to finished, or else Oleg would have used his resources on more important problems b) the game is probably in a testing phase where most of his resources are spent on trial and bugfixing. How long such a task as ironing out the last bugs of a such a complex game can take is very hard to predict. Just think of 4.10. No wonder Oleg wont give us any releasedate. But the updates could be more interesting, though.. Skarphol Last edited by Skarphol; 12-20-2010 at 12:13 PM. |

Gosh, I'm so tired of divisive exchange,
And I've got one or two things to say about change. Like the change we must change and the change we hold dear, I really like change. Have I made myself clear? ![]()

To me the game looks about five to eight months away from release. Based on what we've seen in the updates. Single player and online optimisation haven't even been mentioned yet and I would doubt that they are anywhere near being ready with that.

Some things are worth waiting for, this is definately the case for SOW.
Carry on Oleg, what you have shown us more than feeds my appetite. Cheers, Neil |

Actually he has mentioned that the British Campaign is finished and they are working on the German Campaign.

I think a good indication to be close to the finished product is when we start to see the marketing campaign go up a gear, once we get the dedicated website the game will follow some 3-6 months after.
