The thing is it might not be a BoP sequel. It can be Wings of Prey converted for the consoles.

BoP is already WoP converted to consoles. I'm playing through the WoP campaign right now and it's pretty much the same game.

They share the same theme. Think of all the things WoP has the BoP doesn't and what BoP has and WoP doesn't. I expect any new game from them to be the same WWII theme, same stuff over and over. They might as well patch it instead.

Haven't you been asking for plenty new airplanes, locations and so on, all WWII theme? Plenty of room for a new game.

why sell or give away a patch when you can sell a whole new game? if they sold 600k games like dk said...and i would venture to say that a large percentage of those buyers liked the game....500 to 600k more @ 50 usd. nothing to sneaze at, man.

They can sell the same thing with nothing new in it all they wan't. But after Il2, BoP, and WoP I would think people wouldn't be all so interested anymore. I'm just saying in the next one there could be nothing new, same problems, etc. Simply put, if the game has just small changes like file compression format, and a few new weapon unlocks and just about the same stuff as BoP, why bother and perhaps a co op. The new game might not be worth it if it doesn't give much more. And knowing how lazy Gaijin can be its only just too possible as it doesn't take much work to copy 95% of the previous game.

I'm only half way through the campaign so far and it's the same campaign as BoP. You can't release the same core game on consoles again and expect it to sell.

I think Anton already hinted at a Pacific campaign in the sequel; new maps, new planes and an updated game engine.

Huh? How can you possibly know how lazy Gaijin can be? I don't quite understand what you are saying.

Gaijins next game is Apache and we will see the improvments they have made since BoP. If we then take that game and imagine the same amount of improvement again (a years worth of devellopment) to a WWII game maybe set in the pacific arena, the end game would likely be very different than BoP even if it uses the same game engine, and will have a lot of interest.

WoP = What BoP was ment to be with update support. It IS the same game. Also I believe the WoP on PC was worked on by other contracted developers while the main Gaijin team worked on Apache.

BOP was done before work had began on WOP to sell as a standalone game. One simple thing is BOP doesn't have German Cockpits. So BOP came first. WOP is what Gaijin wanted to give us but 505 lost interest, and like Anton said WOP is easily updated by them to users for free without having to use a publisher for patches and such.

So if a sequel is made then Hopefully by now Gaijin knows what needs to be in the sequel.
