There seems to be a bit of variation in dials used.

This is another undicarrage indicator that is advertised as an "original" Hurricane undercarrage indicator.

http://www.spitfirespares.com/Spitfi...truments2.html

You will notice that the arc at the top of the dial is not broken in the instrument modeled in the Hurricane, this would indicate to me that the indicator is of a different version to both types shown.

Cheers!

Could be another variant, but what it also glaringly obvious is lack of lamp illumination.

I think it very unlikely, at the moment of engaging the 111, the pilot decides to drop his gear.
The RED indicator should be glowing even slightly.

I think it is simply not working when this image was taken.

Yes, as I said there were different varieties used, the one Skoshi posted appears to be a later version, but still in the style used by Hawker. I've seen similar ones with an extra light for the tail wheel as installed in later Hawker products like the Typhoon, Tempest, and Sea Fury.

My intent was not to say the instrument itself was wrong, just the label - I've never seen one marked "WAIT" so I assumed it was a typo. Any examples I've seen of the early indicator as used on the Mk.I Hurricane should say "12 VOLTS" at the bottom.

None of the images posted so far resembles the indicator as shown in the Hurricane Mk.I pilot notes. The resolution of the cockpit photos is not good enough to say what the lines should say, but there's definitely just one line of text at the bottom.

Now we've got that out of the way , I think that it's a bit harsh calling this a bug at the moment.

From the write up in the link of the instrument I posted it came from an early version without a retracting tail wheel.

It's quite possible that the developers have a equally as valid version of the undercarrage indicators modeled. There were many contractors creating various components throughout Britain during the early part of the war. There will be some variation as we have seen.

We also need to remember that alot of the tired old Hurricanes were exported to Russia during the war. Maybe their design was based on one present in one of the lend lease Hurricanes? Who Knows!

Anyway would this indicator stop me from flying and enjoying SOW when it is released? No I don't think so! If it is a problem then there will be plenty of time to fix it up in patches after release.

Cheers!
