Notice the total lack of vanity, hubris and conceit of Johnnie E Johnson And Margaret Horton who casually recall their foibles and have no problem smiling/laughing at themeselves. What a great sense of humor! and a statement of the generation of the times.

Indeed! We could all learn something from that generation. I'm very lucky in that my grandfather, who fought with the 11th armoured, is still around to shout at his grandsons. He and his kind are amazing.

indeed my great uncle went to England to fly fighters and actually scored 2 confirmed kills, he was killed later in the war though, too bad their wernt enough brave men in England to do the fighting they had to import braver heros, otherwise my great uncle might still be around, i do believe the brits set up the Canadian pilots into the most dangerous positions intentionally to have them killed, as Canadian pilots were killed almost twice as often as British pilots, either that or the Canadians just weren't pussies like the brits
