I can sympathise here. I'm currently stuck on the escort Alex mission. Astarti ( or whatever it's called mothership ) with polaris x2 & an inferno cannon, 3 3rd gen fighters with the good double barreled kinetics and I get wasted everytime. I agree with the OP about the mission layouts though, it just seems like someone forgot about anything else apart from outnumbering the player at least 3 to 1 and usually more like 5 to 1.

Also I have lost count of how many times my wingman ( who is supposed to stay with the wing leader ) goes walkabout and starts attacking a completely different target some miles away ( usually 4 or 5 in a group that of course waste her )
