The game is based on three science fiction books by Alexander Zorich, all the names and plot are his work (their work, since this is the pseudonym of two people, man and woman). I guess they or one of them knew zoroastrian mythology in university while learning Farsi.
It's strange that Kir means something bad, i've meant http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cyrus_the_Great

This is one of the reasons why the tomorrow war stands up as a space sim: it's story is hugely well develloped, due to novel origins...

Also, are their plans for another tomorrow war universe story (the same way as factor K was born?)

that's cyrus the great.we call him kurosh e "kabir" or "bozorg"(both means "the great") the word they have used in the game is something else,not that.
cyrus the great himself is the most beloved leader in history of perisa.

let me add 2 things:
in persian cyrus is=kurosh
and if the writers knew persian..why they have used that word??!!perhaps the devs have changed some small parts of the story and names? but i have to accept it's funny!!..

It's simple - Cyrus spelled 'Kir' in Russian. In English version of the game its 'Cyrus' i think.

Well, it's just the '-us' ending being omitted. Icarus > Ikar, Daedalus > Dedal, Horus > Gor, Odysseus > Odyssey, etc.
