ok, next question- did you install to the default location(c:\program files\....
this is not recomended in vista/win7- try installing to different location are you running these programs as administrator?- you should make sure run as administrator check box is ticked in the compatability tab of properties for il2.exe (and il2setup.exe) is uac on? try turning off this is my order of likely to be the problem but try them in reverse order posting a copy of your conf ini might help can't think of anything else offhand
