That's a good choice. I would have said something along the lines of say a P/F-80. But that would have been my second choice.

I got some insider intel on this, if you're interested...

The majority of our Chinooks are currently grounded from combat operations thanks to software. You see it's a rule that the software for primary and secondary systems have to be developed by different companies, as then it is highly unlikely that the same bugs or problems will be present in both systems. So if one fails you can be reasonably sure the back-up will function.

But it turns out that the guys that did some of the software for primary and back-up systems both went to the same university and learned the same things from the same teachers, so make the same design mistakes. I don't know what the systems were or how many of them there are. Could be just one system, could be all of them... But whatever - a lot of Chinooks are grounded.

P.S: now I have an opportunity to post in here without being off-topic I can finally congratulate you on keeping a thread on topic and civil for soooo many pages. WP

Got me stumped!!

look how far back the wings are, narrows down the possibilities a bit, then you have the colour scheme.....

I have no idea. Its been rattling my brain for some time but i've not got the foggiest. Each time i think of something i then see the pic and realise it isnt what i was thinking because it has a unique shape to it.
