I had the same problem as you beeing an RC pilot.
X360 system remapping is a good idea, but as mentioned above i doubt it will ever happen.

However, to do the rewiring yourself isnt too difficult. It just involves cutting 4 PCB tracks and soldering on 4 straps.

You could even attempt to wire up your PC stick as I did:
