Windows 7 & Weird Il-2 Problem

Hi, I have no problem on a similar machine (x64 W7 Ultimate and a GTX 275 with 191.07)...

Have you tried compatibility mode set to "XP SP3" or similar? Do you have the same problems in OpenGL and DirectX?

Yes, I've tried all sorts of comparability modes, though I know lots of people that don't need to do this. One thing that I didn't try was DirectX for the heck of it. Though I won't play in that mode I'll see if it's any different. Thanks for the reply.

Just tried DirectX and got the same thing. I click on the shortcut, the screen turns black for an instant, then the desktop flashes into view and then the loading screen appears but I'm zoomed into the upper left corner and have no mouse function.

I just figured it out!!!!!! Under compatibility I had to select the "disable display scaling on high DPI settings" and it fixed it fine!!! Didn't have to do this on the RC, though that computer has a 9800GTX+ in it with different drivers so that may be it or something that changed from teh RC to the GOld version. Either way I'm now a happy man again. Ah, life is good again.

Really weird, but I put that in my large box of weird advice to try when something does not work on a computer

I was just going to post that I have the same problem as Avatar. I will try the fix.

It worked but now I can't change the config.ini. " Access Denied" Administrator problem I guess? How can I change my log in, as the Administrator?

A hint (if you don't already know how to do it). Log in as Administrator. Right click on "Computer" in the start menu and select "manage", then go to "local users and groups" in the list, select "Groups" and then double click the "Administrators" group. Then click "Add" and add your "normal" user to the Administrators group. That way your normal user will become a local administrator and you don't have to use the Administrator account explicitly... It will save you a lot of problems!

I was able to gain access by right clicking on the onfig.ini folder/properties/security/and changing PC users permissions.

I seem to be automatically logged in as a PC user with no option to change to administrator although I see references to my being an Administrator and PC user.

Hi i also use Win7 Home Prem 64bit and i have NOT found anything it wont run. It even run Hyper lobby i think its great.
