A tactical fighter variant of the P-47N Thunderbolt reached 813 km/h (505 mph) at 30,000' I have a old copy of the Guinness book of world records that my grandfather gave me and thats what it says.

The best recorded speed I have been able to find from the TA-152H's was 472 at 41000', while at sea level.

I could be wrong. Still though BOP is deffinatly off on some of the planes. The Pc ver (Il2 1946) is more accurate. I don't understand why they would have changed the flight models, when they were already done in 1946. Oh well who knows, I love this game though.

I dont understand this:
quote from dev:
All flight models were taken from PC IL-2.

Obviously the models are not the same as the ones in 1946 :S. Well, they probably are the same, I believe the dev, but then they did something else wrong.... I still think they messed up the weigth of many planes. And really hope, that whatever it is that messes up the models, will be fixed!

Not all models are 'messed up', but they ARE all different from the 1946 version.. even though they should be the same. So that tells me there must be something 'wrong'

Yeah I know, I asked about the flight models along time ago and I remember them saying that also. I agree with you though something is off on a few planes.
I'm sure they will get it fixed. They are doing a good job and I know Anton and his crew are on it. It has been a real blessing to have him come here and fill us in on things since, way back when there was hardly anyone on this forum except a few of us die hards, so I trust him also.

I can't wait for the red outs and black outs to come back on in full strength !
That will be huge. I'm sure they are working on all kinds of other fixes too and some we probably don't even know about.

I do start to need some kind of release date .
Some game nights can be really frustrating. When everyone you shoot crashed. Or when you have a game with everyone just keep pulling 20g turns a the whole time without problem (long live blackouts).

But also, because many planes are still not at full potential (P-51, FW190, Ta, and the bf109 in some way <--- you can scratch 10 or more planes of the 'competitive in online play list') You see the same planes in every game. It creates a lack of variation and tactics. <-- la lack of tactics because it its the Boom and Zoom planes that suffer. Thus giving almost only turning fights

Come on update!

Why is the Ta-152H-1 so slow?

Because BoP was not designed for BnZ planes. The focus of the gameplay is clearly on quick turning fights and I don't think the devs wanted, or knew how to model the complexity of BnZ tactics with proper E retention. The P-51, P-47, FW series and all other E fighters will always remain porked in favor of turning fighters.
