What makes it extra annoying to keep re-starting is the really long flight at the start to the first target. As soon as the mission starts, order your entire flight to get on with the mission (down on the d-pad, then right). They will all target the only objective on the radar. You can then head slightly to the left and another target will appear. Then go from there... Also, when you bring up the map, you can choose which of your flight you want to control on the right of the map screen. This effectively lets you "teleport" around the map (assuming your flight aren't in formation). I'm not sure what happens to your plane when you do this though - I think the AI resumes control. |

Just in the single missions. Open the map and use the arrow keys up and down to select a different airplane. It's just for planes in your flight though (green on the minimap).

Finally finished this mission but I had to do it in arcade. I will keep trying in Realistic.
Tips: Others said it before but when the mission starts do not use any commands to your wingmen except DPAD: down + right Attack first group yourself. Then once you take those 2 planes out head your plane towards another target group then pull up your map and switch to a plane that is closest to the other targets. Your wingman will already be next to that target, take control and kill them yourself. Keep repeating this. The key is the down + right and switching planes. Also when your in the map use the up down arrows to select a different pilot but be sure to look at the left of your map, it shows a red plane icon for that pilots aircraft. I didn't see this the first 10 times I tried for some reason. |

Has anyone done this on any difficulty other than arcade? Is it even possible?
Because on arcade your plane can fly a helluva lot faster than it should be able to and you can pretty much one hit kill the targets. And even then it is a hard(ish) mission. Anyone else think the fail condition is bugged? It just seems to arbitrarily fail you for some reason. It's not like one of the target planes has left the map or anything... Fortunately, it's not required for any unlocks to complete it on anything other than arcade, but it's annoying to have it as the only bronze badge. |
