Agreed...as practically every shootdown/crash is unique; such dynamic gameplay is a huge selling point.
Anywho...as New Zealand must be the last country on EARTH still not to have recieved this game [ratings SNAFU; game stopped at customs...maybe 14th/18th?;] here are some awesome moments-from playing the demo to death in realistic. In no particular order.
#1; crashing into an He-111, with clipped fuselage ploughing into a second;0) #2; hitting a Ju-87 at least 4 times [one of them a good rake;] so closed to ramming distance, raked him from stem to stern for 3 seconds...his engine stopped, and he skillfully [and unexpectedly] ditched successfully in the sea!! The AI's not very aggressive, but it IS good. Ju-87's corkscrew to get away, 190d9's realistically use their high-speed turns to keep out of trouble [not much use against a Mustang, mind.] Another Stuka was'nt so lucky, and ditched in a tree! Good approach though...#4; just about any dogfight that ends up@/below tree top height-with finger glued to target lock camera. Epic...although a couple of Stukas got me this way. Happens all the time, too. #5; seeing a lightly hit Dora lose control-regain, stall again...then pull out just above the trees.
P.s; I've never played a sim in my life, but have no trouble shooting down planes with the '360 pad [ail/ele sensitivity set to 10/15...enough to put the Mustang right on the limit.] Case in point; firstly I shot down -2 [me], then 0, 2, 4, 2...finally ALL doras kaput in Tiger Hunt. Speaking of which; me LUURVE the Mustang-and it's bite. Just keeping it in the sky is heaps of fun...Spitfire's too easy to fly. Good times;0) I do wish you could walk away from the more epic crashes though, i.e; #6; belly landing the spit...only to hit a tree, lose a wing, slide...then Hollywood BOOM [sigh.] Next time guys/developers...lose the hollywood explosions, pretty please??

At the very least it should be replaced with a slow catching alight, where necessary

My best moment was on the Red Skies Over Dover. l was tearing up a formation of HE-111's, when I looked out to the left and saw a Spit smash right through a HE-111 at a ridiculously high speed, from beneath. I was about 10 meters away from the HE-111. lt was awesome to see.
