BoP OMG OWNAGE!! Love spawning in a shoebox sized map with that radar I can switch to it see the enemy location relitive to me in the center. And oh them tight turns you get in planes and the huge explosions. Can't beat it. Plus were talking about a game pad here man! How's that for complex? I use this same gamepad to snipe n00bs in black ops. My BoP has very complex engine management. Ever tried to hold a drink in one hand and fly with the controller in the other all while turning tight hairpin turns with your guy breething and the screen blackeded out? That my friend is very complex.

My hope here is that DCS: P-51 is going to be A2A + IL2.

Can't wait for the release. Ok it's only one plane but...

Listen, I'm not downing CoD, after all, it is a battle simulation to boot, and there's a lot more going on under the hood than just the flight model, so I'm not complaining; it's just that A2A has produced such a masterpiece of flight simulation, it has ruined the CoD experience FOR ME. Flying in A2A's bird illuminates just how far from reality CoD's representation is, at least as it stands now, and for me I just can't immerse myself in it any longer. So, the point I guess I'm trying to make here is that it's all relative.

That's the very reason I haven't bought ACCUSIM - I love the CloD environment and feeling of flight - not to mention being able to shoot things down - and I worry that using the ACCUSIM product will spoil my enjoyment of CloD.

Hope we'll get a comparable experience in terms of CEM in future releases.

Would be interested to hear the extent to which the 2 products differ.

SICK 360 NOSCOPE PRO MLG HEADSHOTS BRO 420 ALL DAY EVERY DAY

But I can't imagine anyone on the steam forums playing Black Ops with a pad controller. Mouse and keyboard rules the FPS domain, and Black Ops and all the other bro shooters are more of a console thing.

There are three main areas for me that A2A's Spitfire rules over CoDs

A) Cockpit and Systems: If you could do it in the real Spit's cockpit, you can do it in the A2A machine. Fuel pump, Oxygen mix for the pilot (complete with blacking out at altitude if you don't set it right!), morse code RT, pretty much everything works or at least functions visually. The cockpit is absolutely gorgeous and you really feel like you have full control over the aircraft you're in.

B) Sound: The sound of the Engine running, the wheels on the ground, the pops of the detonations, pitch adjustments, it's all quite good. Even the sounds of the controls in the cockpit seem perfect to my ears.

C) Persistant Wear: This is something I DEARLY wish we had in CoD. Persistance of aircraft. We have no 'wear and tear' to speak of in the game except for player customizable 'weathering' that doesn't actually work properly for the Spit (it looks beat up even in the brand new spot on the slider). As you fly your A2A accusim Spitfire, the compression starts to degrade in the pistons, things start to not work quite as well over time and eventually you need to overhaul the plane. If we had this in CoD we could do some great things, not to mention how great it would be for people trying to fly their own pilot career type campaigns.

Anyway. I still love CoD. I would recommend trying the A2A Spitfire (I would DEFINITELY recommend that the Developers do (I'm sure they have)).

(I'm not mentioning the flight model, because I think that CoD will tweak and fix this enough to the point where functionally it doesn't bother me.)

Thanks for the great summary wolverine. I'd love to try it out but I really think it would kill the CloD experience for me......so I won't for now.
