CoD vs Birds of Prey?

I find it very strange that people on the steam boards seem to think that Birds Of Prey is a sim, and try to say it has more realism than CoD. Don't they realise that anything to do with a console is dumbed down?

Well, that may be the case, but when you fly something like A2ASimulations Spitfire in FSX (with ACCUSIM), and come to master it, you find that coming back to CoD is like visiting the kiddy park.

Listen, I'm not downing CoD, after all, it is a battle simulation to boot, and there's a lot more going on under the hood than just the flight model, so I'm not complaining; it's just that A2A has produced such a masterpiece of flight simulation, it has ruined the CoD experience FOR ME. Flying in A2A's bird illuminates just how far from reality CoD's representation is, at least as it stands now, and for me I just can't immerse myself in it any longer. So, the point I guess I'm trying to make here is that it's all relative.

I've never flown the A2A Spit but found FSX FM ok for straight and level flight, but dumbed down when performing combat manuovers. Or do you just like the more complex (I assume) CEM aspects of the A2A Spit.

FS third party can rework FM also if they want. So the opinion you have in stock FMs is not necessary applicable to third party planes.

Cost is a factor between A2A sims and CoD, though I do appreciate the differences and your opinion about both products. A Spitfire at ~ $30.00 should be a lot different than one in a game with 9 or so other flyables and a map of lower England and Northern France.

I'd like to try the P-40 myself. I enjoyed it a lot in IL2. Wouldn't mind trying it in FSX.

+1 , It's been reiterated time and time and time again that 3rd party FSX software designers can modify the FM of any aircraft an enormous amount yet people still struggle to comprehend it, I don't understand why people can't grasp that IT IS possible to have a very good FM in FSX.

If both games went up against each other like a beat em up, Clod would win and it would say:

FLAWLESS VICTORY!

Warbirds of Prey that is... Neverplayed this acu sim thing.

The problem with MSX add ons is its all a very expensive business, and when they concentrate on one aircraft for a year, then you really want them to get it right for the money really. But I was originally talking about an xbox game vs CoD.

I for one, wouldn't mind to pay 30 USD for each flyable aircraft, if it has the quality of the A2A Spitfire and CloD's combat sim engine is fixed.

i disaggree. speciall if the competiton lasted for more than 40 min.

brds of prey is a good game. it has some flaws, and its inferior to 1946 in msot aspects. but its a good game for people who want to fly around in quickk dogfights, and not 1 hour sorties.
